Road Trip To The Washington Coast (Part 2)

When we finally rolled in to our resort in Ocean Shores, Washington after the longest drive of our lives, we were greeted with crappy weather. Our mid-July plans to increase our chances of a dry, sunny trip were dashed. Out of six days at our resort, only one was sunny and warm. On days that we had plans away from the coast, we would cross a boundary a little inland where the sky magically opened up and it was sunny and unusually hot. In the meantime we found this enchanting little nature trail in the middle of town that was pretty and peaceful.

As far as I'm concerned, slugs should be Washington's state animal. We see plenty of these little guys whenever we go into Washington forests.

A pleasant surprise running into these deer. However, they are everywhere in Ocean Shores.
