This Goddamn Wall

This Goddamn Wall

This shutdown is not about immigration reform/concessions. It is about billions of tax payer dollars for a risky, short-sighted, naive idea with a lot of negative consequences. This is not something noble like the U.S. Interstate System. Even if the wall gets partial funding now it will not last because there are not enough citizens or leaders in government that want it. If Congress caves in to this hostage situation by funding anything other than more hi-tech surveillance and creating more border security jobs, all hope is lost. Trading wall funding for more opportunities for immigrants is of no benefit to current tax paying citizens. If that comes to pass it is all the confirmation needed to prove that we have a void of true leadership and intelligence in this country and we are slaves to a minority of opinion. No matter what your opinion is on the wall, that is not how this country was designed to work. The President does not have the powers of a dictator and we are supposed to be represented fairly and balanced in government. I know our system is broken, but this is a simple problem and cannot be tolerated if you have any ethics. Beyond that you cannot rationally fund a multi-billion dollar project that most experts and scientists agree is a bad idea while so many other things in this country could use the money. It is time to build a wall around the President and slowly start weeding out Congress of his supporters. It is time to bring back the civil and wise Republicans that once existed who were capable of working with others for the benefit of all.

This is nothing but one big distraction that is taking our attention off the big picture and the roots of our problems.
