Climate Facts vs. Opinions

Let’s see how many people choose to keep their heads in the clouds. Here is some information I picked up while doing some research earlier this year, and a brilliant quote I did not write, but unfortunately lost the source:

Fact: Atmospheric CO2 has increased by 40% since the industrial age began, most of that in the last 50 years. The last time CO2 levels were as high as they are right now humans did not exist.

Fact: Pound for pound, CO2 has 20 times the infrared (heat) absorption capacity as water vapor.

“Not one climate change-denying rant has made any serious attempt to explain what has happened to all of the extra energy retained by the Earth’s atmosphere due to CO2 increases. Glaciers melt and a weakened jet stream allows cold air to spill out of the Arctic later than normal but they just ignore it and call it a government con job as if thermodynamics is a matter of opinion or ideology.”

And to think that since 2016 our government has been going in the wrong direction by weakening environmental regulations, promoting development in wild areas, ignoring science, and moving backwards in progress towards clean energy. While we squabble over cultural policies and philosophies REAL, PHYSICAL THINGS that are essential to the survival of all species are being stressed and stretched to the limits. All by our heavy hands and narrow-visioned foolishness.

Sometimes I think that the world is just too big for some people. What happens in another part of the country, on the other side of the world, or even if some random species goes extinct it just doesn’t affect them. I’m here to tell you that it all matters. Everything is connected on a finite planet. Once the damage is at your front door, it’s going to be too late.
